1. Today’s Crypto Boom: Here’s What Happened…
It’s a great start to the week for major crypto pairs rallying across the charts since early morning hours. Specifically, Ethereum was today’s biggest gainer with the crypto’s price gaining significant momentum against the US Dollar and bitcoin. ETH/USD is now placed for more gains above the $200 resistance levels. ETHUSD gained more than 12% in early Monday morning, while other crypto majors such as bitcoin and ripple have also gained more than 10% this morning.*
2. Friday’s Biggest U.S. Stock Rallies
U.S. shares enjoyed a robust session on Friday with Netflix, Visa and Adobe adding significant gains. Netflix NFLX stock has suffered since its now infamous Q2 subscriber miss, but finished last week 5.75% higher as the streaming giant growth prospects look strong ahead of its Q3 report this week. Visa shares also finished the week 4.7% higher after Oxbow Advisors LLC lifted its holdings in shares of Visa Inc (V) by 5.1% during the 2nd quarter. The third bigger winner for last week was Adobe with more than 4.3% profit. Adobe also made headlines today after Chesley Taft & Associates LLC trimmed its holdings in shares of Adobe Systems.**
3. A Bad Day For The Sterling, A Good Day For The Dollar?
The dollar firmed against the pound and euro on Monday as unsuccessful British efforts to secure a Brexit deal ahead of a key European Union summit caused investors worldwide to turn to safe haven currencies. The problem of Britain’s land border with Ireland has thwarted a drive to clinch a Brexit deal, as negotiators over the weekend admitted defeat after marathon talks and pressed pause for the coming days. The British pound shed 0.3 percent this morning after negotiators from the European Union and the UK failed to clinch a Brexit deal ahead of the crucial summit.***
