Crypto project Dash has announced the launch of Dash Text, an SMS-based cryptocurrency transaction service for Venezuelan users. The launch announcement caused DASH to skyrocket almost 8 percent against the USD with DASHUSD last seen trading at $167.88 as of 8:00 GMT this morning. Dash is looking to build on the success it has recorded in cashing in on the trend by targeting millions of Venezuelans who are not able to partake in the crypto economy because they do not own smartphones or they cannot access the internet.*
2. Starbucks Shares Surge On Robust Earnings
Shares of Starbucks skyrocketed to close 9.7% higher Friday as investors finally saw a turnaround taking hold in the U.S. The company reported that U.S. same-store sales growth had been 4 percent in the fourth quarter, the result of more customers buying Starbucks beverages. This was well ahead of the 2.7 percent growth Wall Street had forecast for the period.

3. Oil Prices Plummet After US Grants Sanction Waivers To 8 Iranian Importers
Oil prices tumbled on Monday after the U.S. granted waivers to 8 major Iranian importers enabling some countries to still import Iranian crude, at least temporarily. Specifically, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (USOIL) crude futures were down 44 cents, or 0.7 percent, at $62.70 a barrel as of 8:30 GMT while Brent (CL_BRENT) has lost more than 0.6 percent in value at $72.38.***
